Car Crash Chaos: Bollards Cause Constant Smashes On Road
Incredible CCTV footage shows 11 cars - including a police van - crashing into bollards in the space of a few weeks. Residents in Woodmere Avenue in Watford say crashes happen all the time. The width of the street was reduced to 7 feet. Hertfordshire county council say the restriction is to discourage heavy goods vehicles from passing through the street but admit the street restrictions are a problem.

A rigid steel bollard is totally unforgiving and can cause major damage to a vehicle. Bollards are meant to protect but we need to weight up the cost to property and possibly lives when using solid steel embedded bollards, after-all we are human- we make mistakes, but rigid steel bollards are totally unforgiving and can be nasty to deal with.
Not only are they dangerous they act toguh but they are total pussies as they don't recover from impact- they have to be dug up and replaced every time- causing expensive on-going disturbance, carbon waste and maintenance as both the bollard and surrounding foundations must be replaced and the damaged bollard and surrounding concrete sent to landfill!
We have a simple solution- soft cover bollards that absorb the impact force fo a vehicle and self recover, protecting vehicles from damage. Unlike spring mounted bollards we continue working year after year and we have a strong resistance core to ensure we do not deflect beyond 20 degrees, preventing access to an area, whilst also making both the bollard, and the expensive concrete footings re-usable impact after impact- improving safety and substantially reducing ongoing maintenance costs.
