MRWA REMOVABLE TRAFFIC BOLLARDS
ZERO WASTE Traffic and pedestrian bollards are secured on ZERO WASTE Foundations and are easily removed by authorised persons to allow access; for wide loads or maintenance.
The ones shown here were installed more than decade ago and remain pristine condition (despite several major impacts). Click below to see photos of projects and updates on this project.
MRWA REMOVABLE BOLLARDS
No damage to footings when bollards are impacted by a vehicle.
Shown here is a row of removable bollards that was severely impacted at high speed. The footings remained in tact and the bollards were simply levered out and replaced in less than five minutes.
More than decade later- footings remain in excellent condition.
PROTECT PAVING
Shown MRWA grab rail after impact- you will notice no damage to the pavement. The grab rail is simply levered out using an ergonomic tool, and the self-locking taper can be removed from the damaged item and re-used to install a new grab rail.
When installed according to instructions (socket flush with ground level and taper fully installed) items that are impacted will bend at ground level without damage to the pavement or traffic island. At higher speeds the post will bend more easily, making ZERO WASTE Foundations suitable for any speed.

ZERO WASTE FOUNDATIONS
Main Roads WA has been using ZERO WASTE Foundations for more than decade to improve resilience of the network and efficiency of replacements
The implementation of ZERO WASTE Foundations has seen a marked improvement in the cleanliness and safety of our roads in WA.
Shown here is a ZERO WASTE Foundation in asphalt that remains in pristine condition after more than a decade, following multiple impacts.

ZERO WASTE TRAFFIC ISLANDS
Shown here is a ZERO WASTE Foundation in a traffic island in the middle of one of WA's most busy roads.
The Keep Left sign has been removed and the ground socket capped off.
After more than a decade you can see that the traffic island remains in pristine condition, after more than ten years and multiple impacts
ZERO WASTE KEEP LEFT SIGNS
CHS and FRP posts are approved for use by MRWA contractors, providing not only improved efficiency, but enormous savings.
Shown here, directional signage installed using ZERO WASTE Foundations protecting the surrounding paving and concrete from damage for the entire lifespan of the development.
This ZERO WASTE Foundation has been installed for three decades and remains in perfect condition today.

ZERO WASTE STOP SIGNS
STOP Signs are vital for safety on our roads and damaged or missing signs must be quickly replaced to avoid possibly fatal accidents.
ZERO WASTE Foundations enable Main Roads operators to remove the damaged sign and replace it within seconds of arriving on site, greatly improving the safety and efficiency of their workers and our roads.
Flexi-posts now approved (FRP) for use on MRWA Projects - secured using ZERO WASTE Foundations
DOUBLE POSTED SIGNS
No sign is too big for the ZERO WASTE Foundations. The ground socket forms protective shield in the concrete footing and when a post is impacted the energy is initially absorbed by the ZERO WASTE Foundations protecting the footing from damage.
The energy is then transferred to the footing that must be large enough to ensure it is not dislodged
ROUNDABOUT SIGNAGE
Main Roads WA has installed thousands of ZERO WASTE Foundations to secure signs from small Keep left to large double posted signs.
For signs such as this (often vulnerable to clipping by vehicles or trucks) MRWA has begun installing our ZERO WASTE Flexi-posts to further reduce maintenance
